Jake is a native of middle Georgia. He graduated from West Laurens High School in 2014. After high school, he played golf at Georgia Military College. He later graduated from Georgia College with a degree in Criminal Justice. After College, Jake obtained his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University. He was awarded a spot on the President’s List in Fall 2019, Fall 2020, Spring 2021, and Fall 2021. In addition, he earned the Cali Award (highest grade in the class) for both the courses of Evidence and Secured Transactions. Jake was a member of both the Phi Delta Phi Honor Society and the Real Estate Law Society during his time at the Walter F. George School of Law.
Jake has prior experience interning for the Kight Firm, P.C. in his hometown of Dublin. At the Kight Firm, he assisted in commercial real estate closings and civil asset forfeiture cases.
Since joining Mayo Hill, Jake has expanded his practice to include criminal defense and assisting individuals and families suffering from the results of another’s negligence or medical malpractice.
In his spare time, Jake enjoys spending time with his family and friends, golfing, weightlifting, hunting, fishing, boating, traveling, and college football.
