Mayo | Hill Co-founder Michael Hill Receives Third $1M Settlement in Case

Because of his hard work and dedication to his clients, Mayo | Hill co-founder Michael Hill recently received a third seven-figure settlement in a wrongful death case.

First Settlement

In December 2020, an individual was killed in a logging truck accident on Eisenhower Parkway in Macon, Georgia. Initially, the victim was deemed at fault for the accident, as the logging truck left the scene before the police arrived. Michael Hill and our team were able to locate the driver of the logging truck and his employer, as well as an independent witness who confirmed the logging truck did not have operating lights, flags, or strobe lights at the time of the accident. Because of these findings, an initial $1,000,000 settlement was awarded. You can read more about the case’s first settlement here.

Second Settlement

The following December (2021), a second seven-figure settlement was awarded in this case. This settlement came just six months after Mayo | Hill was retained by the victim’s family. This settlement came as a result of our team discovering the trailer of the logging truck was owned by a separate timber company, which had not been listed on the initial police report. More details on this second settlement can be found here.

Third Settlement

Now, in the early months of 2022, Michael Hill and the Mayo | Hill team have once again received another $1,000,000 settlement in this wrongful death case. Our team was able to secure this third settlement through diligent efforts to locate additional insurance information.
