Mayo | Hill Co-founder Michael Hill Receives Second $1M Settlement in Case

First $1M Settlement

We recently shared Michael Hill and our team were able to recover $1,000,000 in policy limits on behalf of the family of an individual killed in a logging truck accident in December 2020. When the accident occurred, the logging truck left the scene, and the deceased was declared at fault for the accident. Through our firm’s determination and hard work, we were able to identify both the driver of the logging truck and his employer. We also located an independent witness who noted the logging truck did not have operable lights nor the required flags and strobe lights on the logs being hauled.

Second $1M Settlement

In December 2021, just six months after our firm was retained, Michael Hill received a second million-dollar settlement in this case.

While settling with the first insurance carrier, our team discovered the trailer was owned by a separate timber company, which had not been listed on the accident report or identified by the police. This timber company had its own insurance policy, as well as an excess policy. Because of our diligence and willingness to continue our investigation, as well as our relationships with other attorneys throughout the state, we were able to recover this second seven-figure settlement on behalf of our clients.

This case is yet another excellent example of how our attorneys and the entire Mayo | Hill team work tirelessly on behalf of our clients.
