On Friday, September 13, the Macon Bar Association (MBA) held its annual golf tournament at Healy Point Country Club in Macon.
One of the purposes of the MBA is to provide “the camaraderie of social interaction”1 for the legal community in Macon and Middle Georgia – and this event is always a great way to highlight that camaraderie.
The tournament was open to all MBA members and event sponsors, which included Synovus, El Sombrero, Primary Pediatrics, and Ace Hardware, among others.
For the third year, Michael Mayo, one of the founding partners of Mayo | Hill, was Chairman of the event. “It’s always an honor to lead up a fun event like this. The Macon Bench and Bar is full of exceptional lawyers and great personalities. Even though we work hard against each other sometimes, it’s nice to have a moment where we can engage in friendly competition and socialize outside of work. I think this event serves that purpose well,” Michael said.

- First flight: Carl Reynolds, Joe Boyd, BJ Survant, and JC Daniel III
- Second flight: James Banter, Lee Gillis, John McMichael, and Chris Gordon
Several raffle prizes were also awarded to event attendees. MBA member James Banter took home the grand prize – a Traeger Smoker which was generously provided by Ace Hardware.
Michael Mayo expressed his gratitude for those involved with the success of the event, saying, “I’d like to thank our members and sponsors for their participation. Also, I must recognize the excellent work done by Austin Goble from our firm. He was instrumental in growing the success of the event and did a wonderful job.”
We’re already looking forward to next year’s event!
